Gamer Network and ReedPOP have announced that the UK’s biggest gaming convention, EGX will go ahead this September on the 17th through to the 20th.  Well, I guess as long as some people start behaving themselves and take the Coronavirus seriously, so that we can get back to normal as soon as possible.

Just like last year, EGX will take place at London’s Excel center, which is currently being used as a temporary NHS Nightingale Hospital location.  Obviously even if CONVID-19 has all blown over, there will be concerns and the organisers will work hard to ensure the safety of the fans, visitors and organisers as a priority.

David Lilley, Head of Events at ReedPOP stated to ease concerns that they:

are doing the best we can during this unprecedented time, looking to the future with hope while we work now with diligence, constantly monitoring the situation and following guidance from the UK government.  This is clearly a situation that will keep evolving and whilst we might not have all the answers right now, we will do all we can to keep everyone informed and updated when we do. In the meantime we would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our exhibitors and partners who continue to be incredibly supportive of EGX during these challenging times.

Further information on EGX such as health and safety precautions, and of course what we’ll have to look forward to at the event, will be shared across their official social media channels in the coming months.

Hopefully, if EGX does happen this year, the event won’t be disrupted by protesters at the London Tube Stations this time, because they made it difficult for just about everyone that relied on the train service that day.  So fingers crossed, everything goes as smoothly as it can during EGX 2020.
