She Dreams Elsewhere Gives Me All the Childhood Nostalgia RPG Feels

As a child that began gaming in the80’s, I have fond memories of the Spectrum 128k, that’s if I ignore the screechy load-screens and constant crashes.  However, other than playing Table-Top games such as the greatest board game of all-time Hero Quest, the RPG genre wasn’t really a thing in videogames back then, at least as much as it is now.  So when I saw the trailer for She Dreams Elsewhere, it not only gave me nostalgic Spectrum 128k feels, but it also scratches that RPG retro fix at the same time.

After watching the trailer, I don’t know what the heck is going on, but with its old-school turn-based RPG battle mechanics, exploration, music and art style, it’s certainly got my attention.  Not to mention that it will also have elements of horror as stated by the press release “wander through your wildest dreams and most terrifying nightmares,”

Developed by Studio Zevere, She Dreams Elsewhere will release early 2021 for PC, Xbox (including Game Pass) and Nintendo Switch, and be sure to watch its trippy gameplay trailer below.
