Can a video game be designed in a day, never mind by only 4 people? Contestants will try to do just that at the first Creative Assembly Jam. The Gamer Network announced that the first Creative Assembly Jam will be hosted by this year’s Rezzed, in Birmingham at the NEC on June 22nd-23rd.

The contest goes like this: Teams of four will be given a day to design a game based on the topic they are assigned.  This will be done on Saturday morning, and be over when the show closes at 6pm. At 4pm on Sunday contestants will do a 5min presentation of their work to a panel of judges. These judges are Chris Avellone from Obsidian, Ed Stren from Splash Damage, and journalist Keith Stuart from Guardian. The winner will receive a fabulous prize.

If you and three of your friends would like to take part, email gamejam@rezzed.com by June 14. Please note, you are expected to bring your own laptops and you must be able to attend all of Rezzed by their own means.

Non-contestant participants will be able to survey the developers’ work, as well as play games like Total War: Rome II during the Rezzed PC and Indie Games Conference.
