Xbox Series X to Bring a Host of Convenient Features Plus Cyberpunk 2077 to be a Free Series X Upgrade

Say what you want about how Xbox One has done compared to the PS4 in recent years, but with its leading Xbox Game Pass platform as well as a super easy to manage library, it has definitely been one of the most comfortable consoles to use with a great amount of customer focused features, especially for its digital library.

However, Microsoft plans to keep the momentum going next generation as well, by offering us not only a powerful console, but also important quality of life features, the chief of which seem to be backwards compatibility.

With the next console, Microsoft aims to let you play four generations worth of content, including everything from Game Pass and let you use your old accessories like the Xbox One controller, and more. Games with backwards compatibility will benefit from faster load times with improved visual fidelity.

Not to mention, since the console will now come with SSD storage as standard, players will be able to quickly resume games from where they left off without having to wait through the whole boot-up period. This is something Xbox was already doing quite well to an extent this generation, but now it’s something that Microsoft look to expand upon.

They aren’t looking to compromise with the hardware either as the console will support a powerful CPU from AMD themselves, giving you up to 4-times the processing power of the Xbox One X, which was already quite the beast of a machine. This will be complemented with Hardware Ray-tracing, which is more than likely going to be the next big thing this gen.

If these weren’t enough, CD Projekt Red has confirmed on Twitter that those who purchase the hotly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 on the Xbox One will get a free Series X upgrade down the line, saying that “Gamers shouldn’t have to pay twice for the same game”. However, I do believe that this will be the case for Playstation 5 as well; where we will see more games get a seamless upgrade.

Be sure to visit Microsoft’s news portal for the fully detailed article that mentions a lot more features. Xbox Series X will be released late 2020, most likely during the holiday season, but a price has not yet been disclosed.  Are you impressed with the powerful specs of the Xbox Series X?  Let us know across our social media channels.
