Later this month, the critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima (not that I would know), gets a big free update.  Version 1.1 will bring in the highly anticipated co-op multiplayer mode which includes unique Story Missions, a challenging three-part Raid and a Survival mode, all of which can be played with up-to four players.

The story missions will introduce a new NPC by the name of Gyozen, who will tell the story of missions from the main campaign, from a different perspective.  In the Raid, communication and teamwork will be of the utmost importance and Survival mode will of course have players fight hordes of enemies, with the difficulty increasing as you progress.  Each of the three new multiplayer co-op modes will reward players with a wealth of goodies, such as cosmetics, which can also be taken into the main campaign.

Going into the co-op multiplayer modes, players will also be able to choose from four unique character classes.  Samurai, straight-up, chop until they drop combat.  Hunter, who can take out enemies from a distance with a bow & arrow.  Ronin, essentially a medic class and finally, Assassin, a master of stealth.

Update 1.1 will also bring in a New Game+, an improved photo mode, Armour Loadouts, new weapons, gear, charms, a new horse, as well as new Trophies to acquire and more.  You can read-up on further details via the PlayStation Blog here.

Are you looking forward to playing Ghost of Tsushima with the new update?  I wish I could, but I’ve not been able to get my mitts on the game as of yet.  Update 1.1 will release for free on Friday, October 16th.
