Metroid Dread Is Getting Two Free Content Updates, First Out Today #NintendoDirect
At last night’s Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Metroid Dread will be getting two free content updates. The first of which is out today.
Available to download now, the first update will add a new Dread Difficulty Mode. In this ultra-hard difficulty, Samus will die with a single hit which will result in a game over. Furthermore, today’s update will also bring Rookie Mode. This gives Samus an increased health recovery as well as less damage taken by bosses.
Additionally, in April, there will be a Boss Rush Mode. This will throw a gauntlet of one-on-one boss encounters for Samus to take in a fight for survival.
A free update lands in #MetroidDread!
In the brutal Dread Mode difficulty, all it takes is one hit to cause a game over. Are you ready for the challenge?

Look forward to a second free update arriving in April, which will add Boss Rush mode, where you can take on bosses continuously, one at a time until you’re defeated!

In my review of Metroid Dread, I said it’s “one of the best action-adventure games that I’ve played in years.”
