THERE’S A FREE DEMO
Firstly, the playable demo will be available on August 27th at 9pm UK time/9am PDT. In fact, you will be able to download the demo from the Nintendo eShop on the 18th with some modes being playable on the 25th. However, the proper demo will begin on the 27th. You will need an active NSO subscription to participate.
If you’re familiar with Splatoon, you will know pretty much what to expect. Players will need to pick their Splatfest team, either Rock, Paper or Scissors.
Demo matches will be over two rounds with teams trying to cover the map with their colours before the timer runs out. The first round will be standard 4v4, while the second round will be 4v2v2.
The team that is in the lead from the first round, will have four players, while the other two teams will have two team members each. From what I can tell, the two teams will be out to get the team of four.
IS TETRIS IN SPLATOON 3?
Yes, kind of. Well, at least a mini-game that looks to be inspired by Tetris. The mini-game is called Tableturf Battle which is described as a “1v1 competitive card-battle spin-off of Turf War”. Take a look for yourself below.

FREE AND PAID CONTENT IS ON THE WAY
Post-launch, Splatoon 3 will benefit from free content updates. While specifics weren’t revealed, the free content will include new catalogue cosmetics and weapons every three months, new maps, as well as the X Battle and League Battle modes. Furthermore, Splatoon 3 will also have “large-scale paid DLC”. Details on that paid content will be revealed at a later date.
