Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive has revealed that the surprisingly fun, co-op zombie third-person shooter, World War Z is getting a bunch of free content, beginning this month.  This month we will get a new mission set in Tokyo, which will release alongside a new, spitting and resurrecting zombie type.

Then in June, we will get a new six-skull difficulty setting which offers a “unique reward” upon completion, as well as some cosmetic items and more.  In July a Weekly Challenge mode will then be added to the game, as well as more cosmetics and other items.

Other upgrades to the game currently in development is a new waved-based survival mode, the ability to switch classes during PvPvZ matches, improvements to the field of view and level of detail sliders for PC gamers, and more.  This is also labelled as “Phase 1” of content for World War Z, so that hopefully means that this will be a well supported game, especially with sales exceed expectations reaching over 1 million.

Finally, keep a look out for our review of World War Z in the coming days.
