PQube has announced that Tormented Souls has suffered another delay, this time for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Tormented Souls is already available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, prior to its previous launches, it also suffered some delays. Unfortunately, the last-gen systems are the latest to feel that impact.

As I loved the PS5 version so much, I pre-ordered the physical copy from FunStock for the Nintendo Switch that comes with the limited edition Sun and Moon coin. The order was supposed to arrive later this week. So going in to check the order status, I noticed that the release date now said February 25th, 2022.

So, I emailed customer service to double-check, and I quickly got a reply confirming the news. They also told me that the postponement is caused by “delays in the manufacturing process”. It sucks, but it is what it is. Shortly after the reply, the official press release arrived in my inbox adding further confirmation.

However, there is some good news (kind of) to deliver as Tormented Souls will get receiving multiple free updates starting this week on October 28th. The free update will add a new outfit for Caroline, as well as a new “heavily modified nailgun”, as well as a full soundtrack. Unfortunately, the soundtrack is Steam only, but all platforms get the new outfit and weapon.

Are you disappointed by the delay and are you looking forward to trying out the new outfit and weapon? Let us know across our social media channels.

Good/bad news aside, Tormented Souls is a fantastic game that all fans of old-school survival horror should experience. In my review, I said: “Tormented Souls is more than a love letter of yesteryear, it’s also one of my favourite games this year.
