Virtual Fighter 5 is coming back with a remake on PlayStation 4.

Virtual Fighter 5 originally released for the PlayStation 3 back in 2012 and it was a decent return to form for the iconic 3D fighter. We’ve not heard much else from the series since that time, but now the series is back with Virtual Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown.

Vitual Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown will be remade using RGGs Studios Dragon Engine, the same engine that’s powered recent installments of the Yakuza and Judgment series.

Virtual Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown will be exclusive to PS4 via the PSN Store.  It is also heavily rumoured that this week it will be announced as a June PS+ title along with Stars Wars: Squadrons. I guess we’ll know soon enough.

Virtual Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown will release for PS4 on June 1st.
