Rockstar Games has revealed new details on the new-gen version of GTA 5 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

GTA 5 on new-gen consoles will have three graphics modes. Fidelity Mode will have 4K resolution with ray-tracing enabled at 30FPS. The Xbox Series S version will have upscaled 4K.

Performance Mode will target 4K resolution (without ray-tracing) at 60FPS. Xbox Series S will have a 1080p resolution. Finally, RT Mode will be a hybrid of Fidelity and Performance with upscaled 4K with ray-tracing at a target 60FPS.

Furthermore, GTA 5 on new-gen consoles will have faster loading times, increased population, traffic and vegetation density. As well as improved lighting, shadows, reflection, anti-aliasing, motion blur, explosions and much more.

On PlayStation 5, GTA 5 will take advantage of the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, as well as 3D Audio. The Xbox Series X|S version will also take advantage of Spatial Sound.

In terms of transferring progression, players will be able to transfer both the single player and online campaigns via Rockstar Games Social Club. This will be a one-time migration for each. To do this, players must visit the Rockstar Games Social Club in-game via the Pause Menu. Then select Upload Save Game. This save will be stored for 90 days.

Then, once players gain access to the new-gen version of GTA 5, you will then be able to download your saves (one each for single player and online) to your PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. However, it is worth mentioning that transferring saves only works from PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S.

Players will be able to pre-download GTA 5 from March 8th in time for the full release on March 15th. A physical release on GTA 5 will also arrive this April. Will you be picking up GTA 5 on new-gen consoles? Let us know across our social media channels.
