Before you write this off as a silly cat game, there looks to be more to this than the fact the main protagonist is a cat.

Not that this concept of playing as a cat isn’t an interesting one, but you know the internet’s obsession and attitude towards the animal, so it’s not unreasonable to assume this might have been of a similar vein.

Behind that initial concept, as you can see in the few screenshots and delightful teaser trailer, Stray is a game set in what appears to be a futuristic world inhabited entirely by robots in people’s clothing.

Unfortunately there isn’t any real info on gameplay within this announcement or trailer, but the game is being classified as an adventure title, and the post on PlayStation Blog reveals there will be exploration, puzzle solving and even fast paced action sequences.

The world itself looks like a Blade Runner-esque city, bright with Neon Lights, but dark with grime and despair. As I already mentioned, the inhabitants all seem to be robots, and dressing in human clothing it provides an earie familiarity.

It looks great basically, despite the lack of information. The team go into some details about where the game came from on the PlayStation Blog, but I’ll leave that for you to read over on that site.

There’s a while to wait though as the game isn’t coming out until 2021, but it will be a PS5 release worthy of some curiosity I am sure.
