Dinosaur ARK Park coming to PSVR in 2017

Based on the popular dinosaur inspired ARK: Survival Evolved, the franchise will be entering the world of PSVR with ARK Park in 2017.  The news was announced on the PlayStation Blog, where it was stated that ARK Park will allow players “to get up close and personal with dinosaurs and also the immersive primal environments.”  Obviously without the danger of being eaten alive of course.  You will be able to encounter a variety of dinosaurs across “tropical rainforest, snow-covered mountains and expansive plains,

Gameplay wise, ARK Park will have puzzle elements as you head out on Excursions on-foot, vehicle or even riding on dinosaurs.  You will be required to collect Gene’s located throughout the park, while crafting ARK tools, lures, and weapons as you encounter our 100 unique species.  Also using the Snap Mode, you will be able to take photos of your in-game experience to earn yourself extra XP.  ARK Park will also feature its own multiplayer Excursions mode.

Once you collect dinosaurs Gene Cubes, it will be uploaded to the ARK Park’s Hub, where you will learn more about the creatures in terms of their characteristics and evolution.  ARK Park will have an additional Petting Zoo, where you can get closer to the creatures, change their colours and features.  This very much sounds like an interactive walkthrough gallery, so to speak.  If you find yourself a particular favourite dinosaur, you can upload it to the Petting Zoo, to become your very own dino pet.

No exact release date was given for ARK Park, but we do know that it will be outsourced to developers Snail Games Peacock Studio, with ARK: Survival Evolved developers; Studio Wildcard overseeing its development.  ARK Park will release next year for PSVR and in the meantime, you can check out the batch of rendered screenshots and their accompanying trailer below.
