Doom Annihilation, B-Movie & Straight to Video Sequel Gets a Trailer

Remember that Doom movie from 2005 starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson?  Well, if you’ve blocked-out that experience from all existence, then I don’t blame you, as I know when I watched the movie originally, it sucked.  But sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in bandwagons, and sometimes when you watch a movie some years later, its better then what you remembered it to be.  So a few months ago I watched that 2005 Doom movie on Netflix, just to see if it was really as bad as I remember it to be, and guess what?  It still sucked.

This brings me on to today, because a teaser trailer has just released for a sequel to that very 2005 movie, called Doom Annihilation.  The trailer in question is only about 30 seconds long, but even during that very short window, it’s quite clear to see that this sequel might even be worse than the original.

In association with Universal 1440 Entertainment, as well as being written and directed by Tony Giglio (S.W.A.T: Under Siege), the story of Doom Annihilation involves a group of space marines being called to a base on a Martian moon with the threat of a portal being opened to Earth.

Apparently Doom Annihilation is being described as “intense action-packed” and “carries shaded of James Cameron’s Aliens”, apparently.  The movie is also coming straight to a DVD/Blu-Ray/digital release and will not be shown at cinemas, it will release this Fall.

At the time of writing, the trailer for Doom Annihilation has up-votes of just less than 1K, but down-votes of over 11K.  The chances are that I’ll watch this movie out of curiosity and for my love of the Doom series.  But will you be watching Doom Annihilation too?  Let us know across our social media channels.  You can check out its teaser trailer below.
