Doom Eternal is Coming to Nintendo Switch this Month

Bethesda and id Software have announced that Doom Eternal is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch this month.

Doom Eternal released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in March and there were doubts that it would come to the Switch despite promises from Bethesda.  Thankfully we now have confirmation and the release is coming very soon!

While Doom Eternal is developed by id Software, the port has been handled by Panic Button who also ported Doom (2016), Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and Wolfenstein: Youngblood for the Switch.

This Doom Eternal port will of course come with the single player campaign and the 2v. 1 online multiplayer mode, Battlemode.

To get such a game to run on the Switch various cuts and tricks will have to be made such as a lower resolution, less detail on textures and even having video cut-scenes rather than in real-time.

However Doom (2016) is superb on the Nintendo Switch, so I am very hopeful that Doom Eternal will be equally as good.  Doom Eternal will also make use of the Switch’s Joy-Con controllers.

Doom Eternal will release for the Nintendo Switch on December 8th.  You can also read our review of Doom Eternal on PS4 here.
