Here’s the First Gameplay for Resident Evil Village Running on PS4
The first gameplay footage for Resident Evil: Village has been released running on a last-gen system.
The gameplay comes courtesy of IGN First and it is captured from a PS4 Pro. The gameplay looks very impressive, but I believe we must be cautious. I’ve got no reason to not trust Capcom, but I can’t help but think of that apparent great footage of Cyberpunk 2077 captured on a PS4 Pro ahead of its release.
That Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay looked great, but as we later learned, that PS4 Pro footage wasn’t really what we had got, at least in terms of actual gameplay.
However, at least with this Resident Evil Village footage, it looks like proper gameplay and does not appear to be pre-rendered. That said, I’ll still be intrigued to see what the base PS4 or Xbox One version of the game looks like.
During the gameplay reveal we saw a little more of Lady Dimitrescu castle, as well as its dungy dungeons full of zombie, ghoul things!
Additionally, there is an extended scene of Lady Dimitrescu seemingly talking to her boss over the phone. We saw a shorter version of this footage during the Resident Evil showcase event back in January, but now we’ve seen a little more.
The scene in question continues after Lady Dimitrescu is being polite and cooperative with her boss that was until she put the phone down. At this point, the “Tall Vampire Lady” had gamer rage and launched her vintage vanity table across the room!
However, during this scene, we also saw at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen that Resident Evil Village will have a Photo Mode!
Capcom, do you realise what you’re going to unleash on the internet with the Vampire Vixen and a Photo Mode?! I’m not sure that I know, but I have no doubts that the Resident Evil community will get very creative, to say the least.
Resident Evil Village will release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia on May 7th.
