Gioteck Launch “Premium” Budget Wireless Controllers for PS4 and Nintendo Switch
For years, Gioteck has been known for their quality third-party controllers and accessories for PC and console over a number of generations, and this week a new wave of controllers will release for both PS4 and the Nintendo Switch.
You’ll have the choice of either wired or wireless controllers from a number of retailers. For PlayStation 4 we have the VX-4, which has an RRP of £19.99 in Red or Titanium at Argos for the wired version, and the Black wireless controller will set you back £29.99. However, at Game, you can pick up some exclusive colours for the wired versions in Blue or a slightly different Red design.
For the Nintendo Switch, you can pick up the WX-4 range at Argos, either wired or wireless. The wired controller which is available in Blue or Titanium has an RRP of £19.99, but at the moment you can purchase them with a 25% discount, knocking down the price to a bargain £14.99! While the wireless controller in Black will only cost you a modest £24.99.

After testing both controllers extensively, while neither can be expected to replace official controllers, as far as budget controllers go, they are great alternatives. Years back, budget controllers usually meant cheap crap, which no one really wanted to use and was often forced upon your visiting friend or a younger sibling.
However, we seem to be in a new era where budget controllers have reached a new standard of quality and these latest controllers from Gioteck seem to fit that bill. Each controller feels of decent quality and comfortable in the hand, and the PS4 controller also includes the touch-pad button, something that isn’t always included with budget controllers.
Each of the controllers has LEDs that indicate the battery life and player number. The PS4 wireless controller also features an audio jack, but the Switch wireless controller does not. However, both wireless controllers have vibration and motion support, which is an added bonus.
All in all, while it’s very unlikely that these controllers will never replace their official counterparts, in my humble opinion, this range does represent good value for money and you probably won’t feel as guilty handing your friend or sibling the 3rd-party controller from now on.
