Quantum Break VGX Feature & Why I Am Impressed

 

 

Today, at the VGX, Quantum Break’s Creative Director, and fan favourite, Sam Lake talked more about what the game would be about and what the setting will be. I have to admit, the game looks absolutely amazing, however one thing related to the story really caught my attention. It looks like it will have a strong villain!

From what you can see above, they seem to talk about a character named Paul again and again. According to the interview, Paul was present during the experiments that caused such a disturbance in time, and due to it, possesses some unique time changing powers, just like our main heroes. However he’s… A LOT MORE POWERFUL.

Also, speaking about the powers, from whatever snippets were shown, you can see that we play as superhumans , who manipulate time in a unique way. I understand that there are so many superhero/human games out there already, but how many actually feature vulnerable characters? Those that actually still need to use a gun? Well, not much.

Overall, the game sounds amazing, and if done right, can be a real console seller! In fact, this is the only reason I am seriously planning to buy an Xbox One, as it looks absolutely stellar! Quantum Break will follow two detectives as they literally race against time, to go against the ruthless corporation, Monarch which is founded by our villain, Paul. It will be out on the Xbox One, with a release date yet to be confirmed!

Lastly, in the video above, DO NOTICE how the people behind Sam Lake skip backward and forward, in accordance with the theme of the game! Amazing.
