Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Director Vows to Re-Design Sonic
There’s a good chance that if you’re reading this article, then you’ve watched that Sonic the Hedgehog movie reveal trailer earlier in the week and to say it wasn’t received all that well, is an understatement. At the time of writing, the trailer from the official channel has over 287k up-votes, but whopping 488k down-votes.
However in a very quick response since that trailer released, the director of the movie Jeff Fowler has vowed to re-design everyone’s favourite blue hedgehog following fan feedback or perhaps backlash would be a better term. Personally, I thought Sonic looked terrible and quite creepy. He looked way to human, especially with those ghastly teeth and didn’t really resemble Sonic’s quite cute appearance. So the fact that this movie is currently scheduled to release this November, it’s a bold move to make the re-design now, even if it may delay the movie a little.
You can read the tweet below from Jeff Fowler announcing the news. I’ll also include the trailer again, just in case you want your eyes to bleed. Do you have faith with the re-design? Let us know across our social media channels.
Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast ?✌️
