Street Fighter The Miniature Board Game Announced with Successful Kickstarter

In collaboration with the Angry Joe Show, Jasco Games has announced the Street Fighter: The Miniature Game, which has already launched on Kickstarter and has reached its goal of $285,672.  This means that despite the campaign being successful in a mere 24 hours (said in the slow-mo Angry Joe 4 HOURS voice); you can still get backing the campaign for the 28 days (at the time of writing) with a number of backing options.

The board game will include quite beautiful Street Fighter figurines, which are bigger then Amiibo’s and are hand painted to a very high standard.  The game uses what is called the new “Universal Tactics Systems” and will be playable for 2 to 6 players and will have its players battling other iconic Street Fighter characters with their family and friends simulated across boards that replicate some of the series’ most popular stages.  The base pledge will include six high quality figurines, stage maps with 3D destructible terrain, rolling dice, 40-card Battle Decks and more.

You can back anything from $10 with no reward, just to show your support, while the basic pledge of $80 (about £57) will land you the base Street Fighter: The Miniatures Game, however, this will come with none of the stretch goals.  The Street Fighter Pledge of $140 (about £100) will land you the base game, the Boss Expansion which includes M. Bison and Akuma figures, and all unlocked stretch goals.  The $140 is the pledge that tempts me the most.

The top-line World Warrior Pledge of $280 (about £200) will land you the base Street Fighter: The Miniatures Game, the Boss Expansion, four additional Character Expansions based upon Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V as well as all achieved stretch goals.

If you’re fan of Angry Joe, then you’ll know how passionate he is about board games and the Street Fighter series.  Jasco Games has a rich history in the board game industry, established in 1998, they have brought us board games based Mega Man, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Top Gun and much more.  Quite interestingly, over on the Angry Joe YouTube channel where he announced that the Kickstarter campaign had reached its goal, he also teased a Mortal Kombat project, which will be playable with the Street Fighter board game!

Finally, regardless of this campaign reaching its target, you can still back the campaign, so you’ve got just under a month before potentially missing out, so get in there quick!  For me personally, I really, really want this game, but I think my wife will kill me if I spend another £100 on a board game, as I’d have to go for that $140 pledge.

If you want to learn more on this campaign, head on over to its Kickstarter page now and also check out the trailer below.  Street Fighter: The Miniature Game is expected to release March 2019.
