The PushStartPlay List of Nintendo Switch Launch Titles
The Nintendo Switch might’ve only had five launch titles announced originally but that has grown since the March 3rd release date was initially announced. So why not scroll through this thread, enjoy some trailers and find out what is actually coming to the console on day one. Please note that some of these games don’t have trailers or imagery for the Nintendo Switch versions.
1-2-Switch
Developer: Nintendo | Publisher: Nintendo | Genre: Party
Are you the kind of popular person that always has people round wanting to play party games? Then 1-2-Switch might be just the thing for you. Made up of a bunch of bizarre mini games you’ll be shaking champagne bottles, counting balls and milking cows as you try and best your peers. From what we’ve played of it at PushStartPlay it seems fun but we are worried about whether there will be a mini-game in there that people will want to go back to time and time again.
Fast RMX
Developer: Shin’en Multimedia | Publisher: Shin’en Multimedia | Genre: Racing
Do you like driving fast in a futuristic setting? Do you long for the days of F-Zero and Wipeout? Well Fast RMX, the sequel to Fast Racing Neo, could be right up your street. Due to it being an indie title it can also provide you that racing game kick without you having to fork out £40. Fast Racing Neo has an Open Critic of 82%, so hopefully Fast RMX can build on the original whilst also maintaining the standard it has set.
Human Resource Machine
Developer: Tomorrow Corporation | Publisher: Tomorrow Corporation | Genre: Puzzle
Tomorrow Corporation have a trio of games for the launch of the Switch. All three are ports of older games, with Human Resource Machine being their most recent release. It’s a puzzle game that works kind of like programming. If you’re a fan of puzzle games, and you haven’t played this already, then it could be worth considering.
I Am Setsuna
Developer: Tokyo RPG Factory | Publisher: Square Enix | Genre: JRPG
I Am Setsuna is the sole JRPG of the Nintendo Switch launch, although there are a few coming out in the months after release. Released on PlayStation 4, Vita and PC last year, the game was met with a fairly positive reception. It plays very much like the old school JRPGs of the PlayStation One era, with turn based combat being a focus. If you feel like some old school JRPG charm then maybe I Am Setsuna is for you.
Just Dance 2017
Developer: Ubisoft Paris | Publisher: Ubisoft | Genre: Rhythm
Do you like dancing? At the very least do you like rhythm games? Then Just Dance 2017 is likely a game you’ll enjoy. There’s not much to say about it that you won’t already know. It’s the latest in the long running franchise and you’ll be using the controllers to make sure you perform moves just right. It can be a lot of fun, if it’s your cup of tea.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Developer: Nintendo | Publisher: Nintendo | Genre: Adventure
It’s the latest Zelda. If that’s not enough to convince you to check it out you can snowboard, cook and explore a massive open world. This is the big kahuna of the launch titles and it is the title that should probably be on your list if you’re planning on picking up your Nintendo Switch and Wii U on March 3rd.
Little Inferno
Developer: Tomorrow Corporation | Publisher: Tomorrow Corporation | Genre: Puzzle
The second of the puzzle games being released from Tomorrow Corporation at launch. Set in front of a brick fireplace you set numerous things on fire to try and find unique reactions. It’s fairly open in terms of what you can do and there’s no fail state but this experimental puzzler may not be for everyone.
Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove
Developer: Yacht Club Games | Publisher: Yacht Club Games | Genre: Platformer
The retro inspire Shovel Knight is back on the Nintendo Switch with some timed exclusive content. Treasure Trove bundles all previously released DLC whilst also including a completely new campaign called Specter of Torment. When this content will end up on other platforms is not yet known but Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove will be a treat if you’re a fan of old school action platformers.
Skylanders: Imaginators
Developer: Toys for Bob/Vicarious Visions | Publisher: Activision | Genre: Adventure
Skylanders was what helped kick the toys to life concept to life. It’s still going strong and the fact that gamers will be able to continue playing the franchise on this new console will be great for fans. For some reason though traps and vehicles from will not be useable on the Switch version of the game, despite being useable on other versions that released in 2016. Something worth keeping in mind if you’re making the step up from the Wii U version.
Snipperclips
Developer: Nintendo/SFB Games | Publisher: Nintendo | Genre: Puzzle
If you’re a fan of co-operative puzzle games then Snipperclips is the game for you. You’ll need to help cut your partner in to various shapes to progress through the levels, with some things being far more obvious than others. There will be a demo of the game on the eShop that you’ll be able to try before buying but if you’re looking for something to play with someone else then this could be the game for you.
Super Bomberman R
Developer: Konami/Hexadrive | Publisher: Konami | Genre: Action
Bomberman has been around for a long time but it’s been over ten years since gamers received a console game with the classic feeling story mode and multiplayer. Super Bomberman R looks to amend that. Offering up a story mode, which can be played co-operatively, and the classic battle mode everyone loves the game should be great fun as long as it doesn’t mess with a winning formula too much. It will be interesting to see how it does, but it’s another good game to pick up if you’re looking for multiplayer fun.
World of Goo
Developer: 2D Boy | Publisher: Tomorrow Corporation | Genre: Puzzle
The final Tomorrow Corporation game releasing on March 3rd is also the final entry in our list. World of Goo is probably the most well known game of the three that the company are releasing and it’s also arguably the best. The concept is simple. Use the goo balls you have to build structures to get to the exit of each level. It’s an addictive puzzler with 94 on Metacritic for the 2008 Wii release. The game might’ve aged but that addictiveness will still be there and could be worth checking out, especially if you haven’t played it before.

As stated before WEAK SAUCE!!!!!! Zelda is the only game worth getting. Nintendo should of tried harder.
Damn….. serious week sauce in effect. Just Zelda to really look forward to, but that isn’t even a seller for me.
Especially with the Wipeout knockoff like game there along with the JRPG’s (no time to get “into” them) I am going to wait a while before considering this system.
Other than Zelda….meh…
Zelda is already preordered, 1-2 Switch is #1 in my Q on Gamefly. Might pick up that Fast Rmx and shovel knight: treasure trove too.
