When it comes to cult Japanese handheld games from the last ten years, the Zero Escape games are definitely some of the finest. The games take the idea of the visual novel and combines them with the mind racking frustration of escape the room puzzles. The first game, Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors launched on the Nintendo DS in 2009 with the sequel Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward releasing on 3DS and PS Vita in 2012.

Now the third and final game in the trilogy is releasing and it will also be taking the franchise to PC for the first time. Along with the PC, it will also be releasing on the PlayStation Vita and the 3DS when it launches on the 30th June. The game had been on hiatus since the release of Virtue’s Last Reward, but the high demand from fans convinced developers to restart development and finish the trilogy off. Expect more crazy story telling along with head scratching puzzles as we find out what happens between 999 and Virtue’s Last Reward. You can watch the launch trailer below.
