Star Wars Star Oscar Isaac cast as Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid Movie

Star Wars and Dune star Oscar Isaac has been cast as Solid Snake in the Metal Gear Solid movie, which is being directed by Kong: Skull Island’s Jordan Vogt-Roberts, as reported by Deadline.

The Metal Gear Solid movie will be a Sony Pictures production and I’m personally over the moon as I hear that both Oscar Isaac (as revealed in the tweet below) and Jordan Vogt-Roberts are fans of the iconic video game series.

I believe Oscar Isaac who plays Poe Dameron in the recent three Star Wars movies and Duke Leto Atreides in the Dune movie which is set to release in 2021 is a brilliant casting choice as Solid Snake.

I know that video game to movie adaptations never tend to go right, but I’ve always believed that if there’s one video game series that can handle it, it’s the Metal Gear Solid series.

It’s got an incredibly deep lore and equally deep characters.  On the flip-side with such a complex lore and characters it could equally go wrong.

For now I am going to be optimistic especially as I believe we’re off to a good start with the director and leading cast choice.
