YouTuber Angry Joe has threatened to take CBS to the court for the Halo TV series copyright claims.

I’ve been a fan of Angry Joe for years, so please keep that in mind. I’ve also been watching his reviews of the Halo TV series which is currently available on Paramount+ in the US.

Whether I agree with the views of the Angry Joe Show or not, I can trust that they will give their honest opinion. For the most part, their reviews for the Halo TV series have been negative, which seems to be a common reflection of many opinions. Though they have offered positive comments on the series when it’s due.

However, various video reviews for the Halo TV series have been taken down via copyright claims by the TV network CBS. From what I can tell, CBS has claimed revenue from the videos for clips being shown in the reviews.

Most of the video reviews are roughly 30 to 40 minutes long. Yet, claims have been made for 10-second clips. However, claims have also been made for almost the entire video, despite only clips of mere seconds from the TV series being shown.

In the latest video review, the video has been “blocked” five times. Each time, Angry Joe has edited the clips that are of dispute, but it seems when a video is re-uploaded, CBS makes a new claim.

Angry Joe says that his reviews are fair use and CBS is abusing the copyright process on YouTube, and I’m inclined to agree. Especially when these claims are being made manually by a person and are not automated.

In a recent re-upload, the host of the show, Joe Vargas made a passionate plea to CBS:

What you’re doing is wrong. Cut it out. Because you’re messing with the wrong person. I will blow this up, and we will go to court over this. If you claim this video, I have no other option.

I have edited and edited and edited, which I didn’t need to because this is protected under fair use, but I’m trying to play it under your rules, and your rules are bull****. I won’t let you push around any other channels; I won’t let you push around our channel anymore.

Hopefully, this drama will end soon, because it seems like an abuse of power and it’s not a good look for CBS. What are your thoughts on this controversy? Let us know across our social media channels.
