Like a lot of people I love strong, witty and kick-ass heroines in the gaming world and one of my all time favourites has to be Bayonetta. As soon as I got my hands on the original game I was hooked; to me Bayonetta is the female version of Capcom’s Dante and simply oozes coolness from every curve. As you can imagine I got pretty excited at the Eurogamer Expo when I got to get a first-person look at Bayonetta 2 on the WiiU.

The short yet incredibly sweet demo chucks you into the action straight away with you taking on a bunch of angelic looking warriors just like the good old times. Visually the game looks smooth and stylish and Bayonetta’s new look hair and outfit are just the icing on the hack and slash cake. Playing this game on the WiiU gamepad is actually a walk in the park with no hindrance on the button mashing, however it will be supporting the WiiU’s controller for those of you who want a better grip while frantically doing combos.

The battle system hasn’t really changed and still has a fast-paced flow to it, allowing you to chain moves together and then hit climax to do your finishing moves which are just as crazy and fun as ever. The game has been raunched up quite a bit and now stands as an 18 rated game so is not for young eyes but let’s face it, Bayonetta never was meant for the young’uns.

One of the biggest factors with this game is that it will now be 2 player co-op! Jeanne will now be a second playable character allowing for some multiplayer goodness and being able to play games with friends is always a good thing. I really can’t wait for this game to be released and judging by the queues at the expo a hell of a lot of people feel the same way. Hopefully the wait until its expected release in 2014 doesn’t drag on too much.
