#Gamescom2017 Special Editions announced for Xbox One X and a Minecraft Xbox One S

There were some special editions for Microsoft’s Xbox Console unveiled during Gamescom for both Xbox One X and Xbox One S. The Xbox One X limited edition, dubbed the Project Scorpio Edition brings some familiar design choices back from the original Xbox, such as the X patterned box with font on both the Console and Controller in classic Xbox Green.

A few other tweaks have been made to the console as well that enhance the user experience, such as the inclusion of the stand that lets you stand the console upright from the box and feel-able bumps near the HDMI out port so that you are easily able to distinguish it from the in port by just feeling it. I understand that this is perhaps a small inclusion, but it is a welcomed one since a lot of us are used to putting in HDMI blind or in dark spaces.

As mentioned in the unboxing video above, it will come with all necessary accessories such as the high speed HDMI which supports 4K media transfer. Also included with it will be a trial for Xbox One Game Pass, but I believe that will be available with the other X consoles as well. Of course any other Xbox One controllers are fully compatible with this version of Xbox X as well.

Xbox Engineering lead Mike Ybarra also talked a bit about the transition process for existing Xbox One users, promising a smooth experience for those that choose to upgrade. Not only will you be able to install 4k content prior to the X’s launch in November, you will be easily able to copy game and apps off your home network or by simply plugging in an external hard drive since the games saved on them will be fully compatible and you won’t have to re-download them from the internet.

The cool thing is the console will cost just as much as the original console and those of you who are planning to get the Xbox One X may want to think about this edition as it also costs £449.99 from Microsoft’s website. It is available for Pre-order and will be available on the 7th of November. Some of the key features include an 8 core CPU with 12 GB GDDR5 graphics memory included on a 6 Teraflop GPU that will enable you to play quite a few games in 4K. For those of you who are not so tech savvy these are definitely some good specs that are more than capable of 4K gaming with tweaks.

However, if there was one particular model that stole the show in my opinion, it was the beautifully designed Minecraft Xbox One S bundle that features the iconic blocky aesthetics of Minecraft and a carefully gloss embalmed red stone patterns on a smoky transparent behind. It not only gets the blocky essence of Minecraft right but you can tell this was designer made with the care put into some of the features, making it look absolutely stunning.

What is even more interesting or cuter, are the controllers that will release alongside it, featuring the design of the game’s notorious creeper and the pig. Both are available to pre-order separately right now for the 5th of September release on the official Microsoft Website and will feature complete support for Windows 10 PCs and Tablets. The console bundle itself will be available exclusively through British retailers Argos and Sainsbury’s in the UK for £350.
