During November, Niantic will be launching the first proper paid event for Pokémon Go, in which players must spend real-world money (not accumulated PokéCoins) to participate in the event.  But for those that don’t want to spend real-money, then fear not, because in the long-run, you shouldn’t miss out.

On Saturday, November 2nd, Pokémon Go players will have the option to purchase a ticket so that they can take part in special raids in the hope of catching the Colossal Pokémon known as Regigigas, relative to Regirock, Regice and Registeel.  The special ticket will give paying players the opportunity to catch Regigigas before he appears in EX Raids.  Naturally, it would be wise to speak to friends to see if they’ll be buying the special ticket, so that you can work together, otherwise you would risk wasting your money in the five-star raid attempting to go solo.

Once you have purchase the special ticket, you will receive a Special Research called “A Colossal Discovery” which will allow you to take part in the special raid on Saturday, November 2nd during 11am to 7pm in your time zone.  The ticket will cost £7.99/$7.99, this is non-refundable and as already stated, this cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.  Purchasing the special ticket will also give you 10 Premium Raid Passes, Unova and Sinnoh Stones, an exclusive avatar pose and Colossal Discovery medal.  However, if you don’t want to or can’t stump up the 7.99, when the paid event finishes, Regigigas will be available via an Ex Raid, so hopefully you will still get an opportunity to catch this Pokémon.

In addition, from Friday, November 1st, Regirock, Regice and Registeel will be appearing in five-star raids until Monday, November 4th.  During this time, Geodude, Magnemite, Swinub, Aron and Spheal will be appearing more frequently in the wild.  While Aerodactyl, Shuckle, Sneasel, Skarmony, Snorunt and Beldum will be hatching more often from Eggs.  For those that crave Shiny Pokémon, there will also be Shiny versions of Skarmony, Regirock, Regice and Registeel.  Finally, during the event, Egg Incubator’s will have 2 x effectiveness.

Just yesterday, details on the Pokémon Go Halloween event were revealed, you can read up on those details here.
