According to a report from Bloomberg, Electronic Arts may decide this week whether or not to shut down the rebooted Anthem.

Prior to Anthem launching in 2019, it came with a lot of hype.  After all this was a game that was inspired by Destiny and was developed by BioWare, and to be fair the game looked great.

However when the game launched much of its content was cut, the gameplay was boring, missions were repetitive and the story was pretty much non-existent.  Not to mention that it had continued server issues and disconnects.

Following all the issues, EA and BioWare made the choice to step away from the game in 2020 and would essentially work on the game again, reboot it and release it once it’s ready.

Apparently BioWare are still trying to fix Anthem so that they can re-launch it at some point in the near future.  However according to the report from Bloomberg, EA will decide this week whether or not the game will be killed.

The report suggests that if Anthem appears to be meeting EA’s expectations, BioWare will continue to work on the game but it falls below expectations, Anthem will not be getting a re-release.

The report from Bloomberg is from Jason Schreier, so I have no reason not to believe the story, but I guess we’ll find out the truth soon enough.

Do you think Anthem will re-release or do you think that BioWare will shift its sole focus on the new Dragon Age and Mass Effect?  Let us know across our social media channels.
