Blinnk and the Vacuum of Space is a family-adventure VR game developed with autism in mind.

Anyone with autism will understand the term “sensory overload” and no matter the age, at any given moment, that overload can quickly become very overwhelming.

Blinnk and the Vacuum of Space is a visual easing game that allows the player to explore and progress at their own pace with no concerns of ever failing tasks.

In Blinnk and the Vacuum of Space, players are taken on an adventure to the “colourful world of the Norpopolis Space Station on a quest to recapture the mischievous alien Groobs with your trusty Vacuumizer 5000.

Blinnk and the Vacuum of Space is led by the parents of an autistic daughter, Alison and Nick Lang. The family implemented their own experiences into making this VR game the most accessible it can be.

Blinnk and the Vacuum of Space come with a “range of accessibility options that enable the player to fine-tune the world around them.

Whether it’s fishing in the space station’s park or power washing an alien’s teeth, the gameplay engages and encourages autistic players at every stage without fear of a failed state.

Blinnk and the Vacuum of Space is out now on SteamVR and Green Man Gaming on January 17th, 2023 at £20. At this time, a PSVR or Meta Quest 2 release hasn’t been announced.
