Bandai Namco Announces Transformers Battlegrounds, Rolls Out This October

In a surprise announcement, a new Transformers game has been announced by Bandai Namco.  I did get a little excited at first, as I expected to see something like Transformers: War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, but this is something entirely different.

This by no means is a Third-Person Shooter, as it has more a top-down perspective and if I was going to take a guess, I’d say it might even by a simple hack & slash/shooter or something similar to that of a basic version of XCOM.

Bandai Namco has described Transformers Battlegrounds as a “game for kids and fans of all ages” and it is being developed by UK studio Coatsink, who aim to bring the “legendary war between Autobots and Decepticons to life in a new before seen way.”  The gameplay will take place on both Earth in Central City and the planet of Cybertron, and will feature both singleplayer and multiplayer action.

At the moment, Bandai Namco has only released a short teaser trailer and a few screenshots, so no doubt more details will be revealed at a later date.  Transformers Battlegrounds will release for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on October 23rd.
