Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 beta dates announced

The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 beta dates have been announced. Happy days.

Furthermore, not only do we have the dates for the highly anticipated beta, but a brand-new map has been announced which takes place on an F1 track! Oh, and the map will make its debut during the beta.

Firstly, the unique F1 map is called “Marina Bay Grand Prix” and it’s a 6v6 map. You can take a gander at the F1 map below.

SO, WHEN CAN WE PLAY THE MW2 BETA?

The beta will take place over two weekends, the first weekend will be open to PlayStation, and the second weekend will be open to all other available formats.

WEEKEND ONE

• September 16^th to 17^th for those that pre-ordered the game on PlayStation.
• September 18^th to 20^th is open for all those that game on PlayStation.

WEEKEND TWO (CROSS-PLAY BETA)

• September 22^nd to 23^rd for all those that pre-ordered the game on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
• September 24^th to 26^th is open to all those that game on available platforms.

WILL I NEED AN ONLINE SUBSCRIPTION TO PLAY THE BETA?

You won’t need an active PS Plus subscription to play the Modern Warfare 2 beta. However, you will need an active Live subscription to participate on Xbox. Furthermore, while you won’t need a subscription to play on PC, you need a Blizzard.net or Steam account.

HOW CAN I GET A BETA CODE?

You can get a Modern Warfare 2 beta by pre-ordering the game on your digital store or retailer of choice. A code will then be emailed close to the launch of the beta. Once you have received a code, you will then need to redeem it on an Activision account. From there, you will be able to take advantage of cross-play and cross-progression.

WILL OUR PROGRESSION CARRY OVER?

No, your beta progression will not carry over into the full game. However, you will unlock in-game items from the beta for the full game.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?

If you have pre-ordered the Vault Edition, you will be able to play with all four Red Team 141 Operators, including Ghost, Soap, Price and Farah. You will also gain access to the FJX Cinder Weapon Vault.
