Could the New Resident Evil Game Be the Co-Op Outbreak?

Earlier today, Capcom teased a new Resident Evil title, as it stands its called Project Resistance.  Naturally, we would likely assume that the game set to be revealed at Tokyo Game Show next month may very well be Resident Evil 8 or a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, however, that looks not to be the case.

Thanks to some images leaked on Reddit, images taken from an un-released trailer set to be revealed at next month’s show gives the indication that the Resident Evil game in question, could be a co-op game.  The images show a small group of four unknown characters looking worried and wielding firearms.

At this moment, it’s all hearsay, but the images do give the impression that Project Resistance will be a co-op shooter or at least some form of other multiplayer game.  Could it be too good to be true for it to be a new Resident Evil: Outbreak? (Probably not).  RE: Outbreak was a co-op survival horror game that released way back in 2003 for the PS2, which was widely considered to be way ahead of its time with its online functions.

What are your thoughts on these images?  Are you disappointed that Project Resistance looks not to be RE8 or RE3: Nemesis?  Let us know across our social media channels.  If it is an online game, let’s just hope that it’s not another Umbrella Corp.  The Tokyo Game Show reveal is set for September 9th.
