Believe it or not, Double Dragon is getting a new game and it’s out this summer.

Double Dragon is an 80s classic arcade game of yesteryear and for better or worse, it’s seen various iterations over the years. So, I’m hoping this latest version will be one of the best instalments for years.

Developed by Secret Base, Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons looks like a more charming version of the fantastic Streets of Rage 4. However, whether it will play as well as it looks, only time will tell.

In total, this new Double Dragon game will have a total of 13 playable characters including the brotherly duo Bill and Jimmy Lee, as well as Marian, a new character called Uncle Matin, and more. At launch, it will feature local co-op, with online co-op arriving via a post-launch update.

Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons will be released this summer for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch this summer.
