Dragon’s Dogma Receives Player Surge Following Sequel Announcement
Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma has received a huge surge in players following the recent announcement of the sequel.
As reported by Eurogamer, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen has received its highest concurrent player peak since the game launched in 2016. At the time of writing, according to SteamDB, Dragon’s Dogmas has recently reached 6,582.
While it’s some way behind its all-time peak of 27,368, it’s nice to see the batch of fresh players are now enjoying Capcom’s classic RPG. Not to be confused with the 2012 original, the 2016 re-release came with the Dark Arisen expansion as well as various gameplay and visual improvements.
Last week, Dragon’s Dogma 2 was announced and it will be powered by the RE Engine, which was used to create the recent Resident Evil games, as well as Devil May Cry 5.
Dragon’s Dogma II will begin the cycle anew.
