Far Cry 6 Debuts at #UbisoftForward and Breaks the Bad with an Intense Trailer

Just as most people thought, Giancarlo Esposito stole the show at the Ubisoft Forward event with his menacing take as the cunning dictator Anton Castillo, el presidente of the fictitious country, Yara. Showcasing not only the turbulent social structure of the setting, but also the no holds barred relationship between the antagonist and his son.  Setting a chilling and political tone for the highly anticipated Far Cry 6.

The reveal was followed by what appears to be the game’s beautifully animated opening credits, namedropping a couple more well known actors, one of which is Anthony Gonzales, the brilliant young actor who had played Miguel in Disney Pixar’s Coco.

Hopefully the actual story of the game will be just as inspired as the cast, and as intense as the debut cinematic trailer, and the new story additions should help do just that. This time not only will the main character, Dani Rojas be voiced, but they won’t just be a camera for the entire story, with the protagonists fully showing up in cut-scenes interacting in third-person with the cast.

I believe having the cut-scenes in third-person is a huge thing, as it will allow for some amazing cinematography, a lot of which always gets diluted and held back with first-person cut-scenes. The best thing is that despite this, you will be able to choose your gender, which we hope will be just as well done as what they did in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.

As this is a Ubisoft game, it will get a sweet looking Collector’s Edition, featuring an amazing looking replica of the flamethrower as well as a keyring of the game’s arguably best character, Chorizo! The CE will come with quite a lot of stuff, and will include the game’s season pass and other Ultimate Edition extras.  The Collector’s Edition is exclusive to the online Ubisoft Shop with an RRP of £179.99, but you can get a 20% discount bringing the price down to £143.99, should you redeem your Ubisoft points.

Sadly, Ubisoft is once again splitting the game into different chunks such as the Standard Edition, Gold Edition, and Ultimate Edition. The Gold Edition looks to be enough for even those who want all the DLC’s as it contains both the game and the season pass.  You can have a look at the info-graphic below to see what each edition includes, as well as some screenshots for the game.

Far Cry 6 will be available for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One, with a free upgrade for the next-gen versions on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Far Cry 6 will be available on the 18th of February, 2021.
