Football Manager 2020 Releases from November for PC, Switch, Mobile and Google Stadia

As regular as clockwork, Sega and Sports Interactive have announced Football Manager 2020.  For many years now, the Football Manager series has been the pinnacle of football management sims and this year’s release will be no acceptation.  Various versions of Football Manager 2020 will begin to roll out from early November for multiple platforms such as PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia.

Now I’m not all that keen on the concept of Google Stadia, but as an addicted, life-long Football Manager fan, it’s this version that has peaked my interest, at least in terms of performance.  Miles Jacobson, Studio Director of Sports Interactive, has indicated that due to the Google Stadia software being powered to our homes via the cloud, it offers far less technical restrictions in comparison to a home PC and that it offers “the fastest way to experience Football Manager.

In a nutshell, due to the cloud and Google’s data being processed in parallel to utilising spare bandwidth, it means that you can load-up this version Football Manager 2020 with even more leagues and player data, without compromising so much on performance, or you could load-up the same amount of leagues that you usually do, and experience a much faster process than any other platform.

I know the idea of processing power may seem like nonsense to outsiders as its just “spreadsheets”, but fans of the series will know that if true, Football Manager 2020 is quite an exciting prospect on Google Stadia. Though as much as I love Football Manager, it’s still not enough to convince me on owning a Google Stadia, at least not just yet.

For most of us, the PC version is the way to go for this beloved series and as always, if you pre-order/pre-purchase Football Manager 2020 on PC, you will gain access to the beta and you’ll also receive a 10% discount on most digital platforms such as Steam.  The beta is often made available a couple of weeks prior to its main release and your data will carry over.  Further details, as well as news on new features for Football Manager 2020 will be revealed around mid-September.

Football Manager 2020 (PC, Mac and Stadia), Football Manager 2020 Touch (PC, Mac, iOS and Android), Football Manager 2020 Mobile (iOS and Android) will all release simultaneously early November.  Football Manager 2020 Touch for the Nintendo Switch (my new favourite version) will release late November.
