Future DC video games will be in the same movie, TV and animated universe, as confirmed by James Gunn.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) consists of movies, TV and sometimes animation. However, at this time, it does not consist of video game media. Yet, DC seemingly has different plans.

In a tweet from the director/producer of The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, James Gunn has revealed that future DC video games will also be part of the DCEU (DC Extended Universe). Of course, Mr Gunn is also the director of the Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

A fan on Twitter asked Gunn if there will be more products sharing the same universe in the DC franchise. Gunn replied: “Yes, most definitely, the DCU will be connected across film and TV (and animation),”. However, a fan then asked if the DCEU would also include video games and Gunn simply replied “Yes”.

At this time, it’s not known what the first video games will be part of the DCEU. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League releases in 2023 and perhaps that game might be arriving too soon. Only time will tell.
