Gareth Bale Joins Lionel Messi On Front Cover Of FIFA 14

It has been revealed that one of the hottest properties in world football today ‘Gareth Bale’ will be joining the already legendary Lionel Messi on the front cover of FIFA 14. Gareth Bale will feature on the editions sold in the UK, Ireland and the Middle East. It’s quite an honour to be the face of the latest FIFA game, especially when you are a lifelong fan of the series such as Gareth Bale. Here’s what Bale had to say about joining Messi in sharing the spot light on the front cover of FIFA 14:

The players on the front cover since I was a kid have obviously been legends of the game,” says Bale. “It’s a great honour for me and I’m very proud of it.”

But it’s not just the photo shoots that will be required for his FIFA 14 duties, as Bale also helped EA Sports capture his body movements to help bring the most realistic football gaming experience possible. The two-time PFA Player of the Year is one of the Barclays Premier League’s most accomplished talents and widely regarded as one of the best players in the world. Bale will join Barcelona and Argentina star Lionel Messi on the FIFA 14 cover.

EA Sports captured Gareth Bale’s free kick technique via motion capture and this will feature in FIFA 14. Bale was also filmed performing a series of athletic drills, passes and shots to capture his likeness and to showcase features such as FIFA 14’s Pure Shot, which allows for new and rewarding ways to score.

Bale, who was awarded the Best Young Player of the Year for the 2012-13 season will also serve as an EA Sports Football ambassador.

Bale joins Arturo Vidal of Juventus, Mexico’s Javier “Chicharito” Hernández and FIFA 14’s global cover athlete, Lionel Messi. Stay tuned for more cover announcements for other regions in the coming weeks.

FIFA 14 will be released for the iOS, PC, PS3, PSP, PS Vita, 3DS and Xbox 360 on September 24th in North America and the 27th across Europe. FIFA 14 will also be released on the PS4 and Xbox One and it will be powered by the much hyped ‘Ignite Engine’.
