Here’s the first teaser trailer for The Dark Pictures Anthology season two. But don’t worry, there are no spoilers here.

If you’re familiar with The Dark Pictures, then you would know that at the end of each game, we get a teaser trailer for the next arrival. However, seeing as the season one anthology has four episodes, this teaser trailer is for a new upcoming season.

That being said, the source of this trailer isn’t officially from developers Supermassive Games or publisher Bandai Namco. It’s courtesy of a third-party YouTube channel called Slimpy.

As seen in the “trailer”, we see button prompts for the PlayStation, so this is taken directly from in-game via The Devil in Me. So, we can only speculate as to why they’re revealing this trailer ahead of the official channels.

Just as a heads up, I wouldn’t recommend clicking on the channel’s other videos, just in case there are any spoilers for The Devil in Me. Interestingly, the teaser takes us to a new sci-fi horror setting, something totally different from what we’ve seen in season one. The apparent title for episode one of season two is “Directive 8020”.

In the trailer, it seems that a crew was searching for a new home planet for the human race, presumably as Earth is no longer sustainable. A crew member mentions that their ship is called Cassiopeia and the new plant in question is Tau Ceti f.

To be fair, as a fan of The Dark Pictures and Supermassive, I’m certainly intrigued by this change of direction in terms of setting. I would imagine that now this cat is out of the bag, Supermassive Games will be making an official reveal soon.

In my review of The Devil in Me, I said it: “provides a bloodshed of suspense, horror and fun. It’s the perfect send-off for season one of The Dark Pictures Anthology.
