It seems that Team Ninja plans on rebooting two of its most iconic franchises, Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden.

As reported by Push Square, the news is courtesy of a recent presentation by Team Ninja. However, before we get excited, it also seems that these reports will be years away from being released.

In the presentation, Team Ninja detail how it’s hard at work developing Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, which is currently set for a March 2023 release. Furthermore, the developer also has another game in the works, Rise of the Ronin which is planned to release sometime in 2024.

Back in 2020, Team Ninja acknowledged that fans want a new Ninja Gaiden, so at least it seems that they’re reminding us that those plans will one day come to fruition. Hopefully. As for Dead or Alive, we’ve not heard anything about a reboot until now. So that’s a nice surprise too.

The last game in the DOA series was 2019s Dead or Alive 6. In my review, I said: “Dead or Alive 6 is ridiculously fun and endlessly charming, and that’s why I love this series, which is why you should consider picking up this crazy fighting game in the not-too-distant future.”

I also reviewed the Ninja Gaiden remastered trilogy in 2021 and I said: “whether you’re a returning fan or new to this series, the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection offers some of the best hack-and-slash games out there, even after all these years.”

Are you happy to know that it seems both Dead or Alive as well as Ninja Gaiden as set for a reboot? Let us know across our social media channels.
