Back in December of 2019, 2K revealed that a new BioShock game was in development by a new studio called Cloud Chamber.  As expected, this new BioShock game was some years away and as a result, we had no further details.  However, thanks to a new series of job listings from developers Cloud Chamber, they’ve given us some hints as to what we might expect from the fourth instalment.

What’s most interesting about the job listings is that they pretty much confirm that the new BioShock will have a new setting, so we won’t be revisiting Rapture or Columbia with a listing stating that the game will feature “a new and fantastical world.

A combat designer position reveals that any new employee will help build “FPS combat paradigm that is accessible, satisfying, and allows for a high degree of player expression and experimentation within a highly reactive world.”  The job position also states that the new developer will help to “accommodate various play-styles and design encounters that can be resolved through player ingenuity.”  All of this very much sounds like BioShock gameplay mechanics.

At this time, that’s all we pretty much have to go on, but it all sound exciting none the less, especially the information that reveals that we’ll be going to somewhere new in this series.  But seeing as we’ve already been under the sea and up in the clouds, what’s next for BioShock?  Let’s get speculating across our social media channels.
