Lego The Hobbit Will Not See DLC Or Game Based On Final Film

Many had assumed or hoped (including me) that Lego The Hobbit will have DLC based upon The Battle of Five Armies, which was the final movie of Pete Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy.  The Lego Hobbit videogame included the first two movies, but not the third.  Now after speaking to GameSpot, Warner Bros has confirmed that we will not get any content (presumably neither DLC nor full game) based on the final movie after all.

A spokesperson for WB Games said in a statement  “there are no plans to develop DLC based on the final film of the trilogy.

This will come as a disappointment to many that own The Lego Hobbit videogame, as it seemed a given that the trilogy would be finished one way or another, do I sense a change.org petition?

Below is the statement in full from WG Games:

The LEGO The Hobbit videogame gives LEGO and Middle-earth fans a fun, new way to experience the legendary adventures of Bilbo and company as told in the first two films of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy. The game provides an excellent set-up for the concluding chapter of Peter Jackson’s film, The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies. There are no plans to develop DLC based on the final film of the trilogy.

I considered Lego Hobbit to be one of the best games in the Lego series, scoring it an 8.5, you can read our review here.
