Naughty Dog has shared the best look at The Last of Us remake so far with added developer insights.

In the developer diary-style video, we hear from Naughty Dog co-president Neill Druckmann, game director Matthew Gallant as well as creative director and writer Shaun Escayg. In the 10-minute video, we hear from the Naughty Dog developers that provided side-by-side comparisons to the remake and the remastered version on the PS4 Pro.

We learn more about the extra visual and fidelity details of the world, character animations, the seamless transition from cut-scene to gameplay, accessibility features and more. The remake will also feature two graphics and performance modes. One targets native 4K at 30fps, and the other targets dynamic 4K at 60fps.

To be honest, what is said about enemy AI looks to be very similar to the original, however, I guess we won’t truly know until we get to play the game. Still, visually, I can see a massive improvement from the remake over the remastered version.

The Last of Us: Part 1 will also feature even more unlockables such as outfits, skins and detailed dioramas. There will also be two new modes for Permadeath and Speedrunning. The developers also talk about how the DualSense controller features, as well as 3D Audio, enhances the player’s immersion over the original.
