PlatinumGames has revealed that it would be ‘very happy’ to see Scalebound revived.

Scalebound was set to be an ambitious action RPG from Bayonetta developers, PlatinumGames. It was intended to be released for PC and Xbox One in 2017. However, instead of releasing in 2017, it was cancelled.

Yet, there might be renewed hope that Scalebound might return, that’s if the developers can get their way. During an interview with VGC, the developers gave fans a little hope that the project might be revived. Furthermore, reading between the lines, it almost seems like discussions have taken place with Xbox chief, Phil Spencer.

PlatinumGames has already pleaded with Phil Spencer to bring back Scalebound. Yet, the developers are once more igniting that flame. When asked about rumours of its return, PG developer Takao Yamane said: “Let me take this one, because if we let Kamiya-san answer this then I think he’s going to give away a little too much unnecessary information maybe! All I can say on record here is that, as PlatinumGames, we can’t comment or say anything about this.

However, PlatinumGames didn’t stop there:

In terms of what Phil Spencer was saying, I’m not really sure where that reaction came from and what he was actually thinking… we’re not really sure, to be honest with you. But if in any way he has changed his mind in a positive way for us, then that’s something that we’re very happy about.

Personally”, it’s very positive from my own viewpoint. Phil! Let’s do it together again! (Laughs).”
