When Rage 2 was initially rumoured to be coming out, most people were a bit sceptical as to what they might do with a sequel to a coldly received game. However, the more they show of the game, the more it continues to look outstanding, cementing the fact that we definitely do need another Rage game.

Whilst the new gameplay does show certain levels that were already present in the E3 2018 demo, the narrator elaborates more on what has gone into the game, and how certain abilities and enemies will work in tandem with each other. Most importantly however, we got to see some substantial car combat in action that speaks volumes of the game’s design.

For example, in the trailer there are different vehicles which are surrounded in different coloured energy fields which understandably gives players a little heads up as to what kind of offensive weapons they will be dealing with. Then we’ve got the obstacles placed in path of the protagonist which have to be dodged. Finally when all of this is coupled with the different enemy types which are resilient to different things, you can see a lot of thought has gone into designing the game, which will ultimately keep players on their feet.

Rage 2 will be available for the PC, PS4 and Xbox one sometime in Spring 2019 and will put players in the shoes of Walker, the last lawkeeper of the wildlands as he goes against the elusive authority who have killed everyone he ever loved.
