The release date for Aragami 2, sequel to the stylish ninja stealth action game from 2016, has been revealed along with a new gameplay trailer.

The game follows the supernatural assassins in their plight to defend their land against the Akatsuchi Empire who threatens to destroy it.

The original game featured options for different playstyles, including no kill runs and a mixture of stealth and cautious action; and this sequel looks to be aiming for similar bug bigger things.

Boasting enhanced stealth mechanics and more strategic combat, the sequel will hopefully expand on the strengths of its predecessor, and with 3 player co-op as a feature this suggests the levels will be larger and more open as well.

Game director of developer Lince Works has this to say:

“We’ve grown a lot since working on the original game and, as a larger studio, we have an opportunity to realize all the full potential of Aragami with this sequel,” explains David León, game director at Lince Works. “One of the things that we are truly excited about is the new combat system which not only gives existing fans a new way to play but welcoming new players with a more intense gameplay experience in Aragami 2.”

The release date is touted for 17th September 2021, and will be releasing on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series S/S, as well as PC.
