Resident Evil 4 remake is coming PS4 and Switch ports announced
During Capcom’s showcase at Tokyo Game Show 2022, it was revealed that the Resident Evil 4 remake is now being developed for last-gen consoles.
Now, some might be rightly concerned that this might hinder the new-gen versions. After all, the Resident Evil 4 remake was initially releasing exclusively for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
However, Capcom stated that the PS4 version is being developed in addition to the PC and new-gen consoles. I suppose given the fact that the vast majority of RE4 on PC and new-gen is already developed, hopefully, this will be more of a side-mission for Capcom.
Sadly, there was no mention of an Xbox One version, so I assume that version is not being developed. I suppose as long as the PS4 version doesn’t hinder the new-gen version, I’m happy that more people will be able to play the RE4 remake.
Capcom has also promised more RE4 remake goodness during a new Resident Evil Showcase taking place sometime in October next month.
In case you missed it, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes, Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village, are coming to the Nintendo Switch on October 28th. Sadly, however, these will be cloud versions. It’s a shame that these ports can’t be downgraded like Alien Isolation, Dying Light and The Witcher 3. It is what it is, I suppose.
The Resident Evil Village Cloud demo is live! Check the Nintendo eShop store page for more info on how to access the demo. Playing the demo is required to test your internet connection before buying the full game.

As much as I love RE, I’m not keen on buying versions of the game that I can only play with a stable internet connection. However, you can only buy or pre-order the games after a successful internet connection test and there is a demo, which is a good thing.
