The Resident Evil 4 remake rumours are back and according to a report, it could be announced this year. But there’s more!

According to Fanbyte, they claim to have sources that say not only will the Resident Evil 4 remake be announced this year, but it will also be darker than the original game. Which is music to my ears. Don’t get me wrong, I love RE4, but it’s not the scariest game in the series. In my opinion. So, if they could tone up the horror, I’m all for it.

It is believed that the rumoured Resident Evil 4 remake will be based upon the initial demo builds of the game. So, could this mean that we’ll get scary dolls, hallucinations, and hook man? Only time will tell.

One change that is reported to be made in the remake, is the opening segment in the village. You know, the “bingo” village. In the original RE4, the opening village segment takes place during the day. However, it is reported that this will now take place at night in the remake.

Sure, in the original RE4, there is a moment when the village takes place at night, but hopefully, the game overall will not only be darker visually but also its themes. An all-out RE4 will the horror cranked up is what I originally wanted the game to be.

The report from Fanbyte also claims that the additional “Assignment Ada ” andSeparate Ways‘ ‘ segments will be expanded upon in the remake. Though it is not stated if these additional campaigns will be included in the base game (as before) or if they will be DLC. We shall see.

We all know that the RE4 remake is coming, but that doesn’t make it any less exciting. Are you looking forward to the likely reveal of the Resident Evil 4 remake? Let us know across our social media channels.
