Right, take this with an absolute pinch of salt, but an individual by the name of AestheticGamer claims that not one, but two Silent Hill games are on the way.  One of those titles is said to be a “soft reboot” for the series, so it will be interesting to see if it will retell stories or perhaps even carry on with previous stories told, which in my opinion, starting again from Silent Hill 3 would make perfect sense, seeing as the first three games are not only the best, but also tie closely within one another in terms of narrative.

The other Silent Hill game is said to take inspiration from the likes of Telltale Games and Supermassive’s Until Dawn, presumably being episodic and in the “choose your own adventure” format, which could make for a very intriguing concept for the Silent Hill series if true.

AestheticGamer claims to have reached out to various developers about two years ago, which is where he learned of this information.  Obviously, we cannot take his 100% word on the alleged sources, but this was also the same individual that leaked the existence of the Resident Evil 3 remake before it was officially announced by Capcom.  He also claims that one of the Silent Hill games might even be announced this year, so there’s every chance that it might be a next-gen title.

It will be interesting to see if this story becomes reality, but going by AestheticGamer’s previous track record, there’s at least some chance that it might happen.  There have also been other rumours that Konami might lease the licence to Hideo Kojima’s development studio, but I don’t know how true that is, especially when considering the messy divorce between Kojima and Konami.

Are you excited at the prospect of two Silent Hill games or do you think Konami will keep the beloved Survival Horror series dead and buried?  Let us know across our social media channels.
