Spyro Reignited Trilogy Announced and Is Multiplatform

Back in February, it was rumoured that a Spyro The Dragon Remastered Trilogy would release this year and it would be exclusive to PS4.  However, Activision has now officially announced the trilogy remaster and with it comes a different name and that it will not only release for PS4, but also PC and Xbox One.  So as expected, it will not have the same kind of deal that we saw with Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, which is great.  Though it’s a shame we’re not getting a Nintendo Switch release, just yet anyway.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy will release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on Friday, September 21st, which will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series.  The collection will include the original Spyro The Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage and Spyro: Year of the Dragon and each of the three games will be built from the ground up, brining the series into this generation.  Also, other than featuring crisp HD visuals (which will also be PS4 Pro and Xbox One X enhanced), each of the three titles will feature updated controls, new lighting, brand new cinematic’s and more.

As someone that is new to the series, I can’t wait to be one of the n00bs introduced into the series, and likewise, returning fans will be equally excited to play better version of games they love.  So while we wait for that September 21st release date, be sure to check out the Spyro Reignited Trilogy trailer above and a batch of new screenshots (including comparisons).

Finally from Monday, April 9th, by pressing ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → Square in the Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped title screen from the N.Sane Trilogy, you’ll be able watch the brand new trailer there too, which is different.
